iPhone not working? With Apple's Do-It-Yourself Service Kit, you can fix your own devices
Several months ago, in November of 2021, Apple launched its new Self-Service Repair service. The fact that Apple was finally releasing official instructions for fixing your own iPhone on your own was a significant thing. There's no need to take your damaged iPhone to an Apple Store to get fixed.
Now, in late April of 2022, Apple
has introduced its Self-Service Repair service. Fixing a broken iPhone 12, 13,
or 14 is possible with the help of internet guides and the appropriate hardware
The self-repair software asks you
to identify the issue with your iPhone order iPhone 12 parts,
whether it is a broken screen, faulty battery, or malfunctioning camera. If you
have access to an online manual, you can evaluate the level of difficulty
involved in repairing on your own. If you feel up to the task, Apple sells the
necessary components, instruments, and instructions and iPhone 12 parts. When you're done
fixing your device, you may send the old or damaged components back to Apple
(to be recycled), and the company will give you a modest credit.
It's important to remember a few
details regarding the new Self-Service Repair option.
To begin with, it's only meant
for those who are confident in their ability to fix their iPhones (because of
the risk of additional damage).
Secondly, DIY iPhone repair isn't
free and probably won't save you that much money compared to taking it to a
professional. The actual reward, though, is the credit Apple provides you for
returning the damaged cartons. (However, you must spend this credit on an Apple
purchase.)
Third, the iPhone 12 and iPhone
13 are the only devices supported by the Self-Service Repair software. It thus
prevents you from repairing an iPhone of a previous generation.
Although, if you're confident in
your DIY iPhone repair skills and would rather not go via Apple, you can always
get a repair kit from a third-party vendor, such as this one from iFixit, which
will likely cost less. You can achieve it at this very now. If that is, you can
find them should you ever need them.
